Putting it on:

  1. Your sling can be worn on either shoulder - usually the side on which you would like your hand free. If you are right handed, you will probably want the sling resting on your right shoulder.

  2. Hold the rings in what will be your free hand. Put your other arm through the loop of the sling and bring it over your head like one might wear a long-strapped purse. The tail of the sling should hang in front.

  3. Position the rings just below your shoulder in the hollow between your shoulder and breast. Not too high - as they will dig into your shoulder - and not too low - as this leaves less room for baby's comfort. Spread the fabric out over the point of your shoulder so that the pressure will not be concentrated in one spot. Spread the fabric evenly across your back so that it is not twisted. The pleats will help to keep the fabric from bunching up on your shoulder. Bunched fabric can cause uncomfortable pressure points.

  4. Once you have the sling in a good position tighten it by holding the rings and pulling the tail of fabric with the other hand. It's usually easier to tighten the sling as close to the desired position before putting baby in.
